For our Client we are currently looking for Candidates for the position of: Project Manager (AI/ML; Pharma) Location: remote / Lodz Branch: pharma Contract type: B2B (with Hays Poland) Length: long-term (min. 12 months) Rate: open Start date: ASAP/1 month Hours: European business hours, with 4–6-hour coverage of the US time zone (East Coast) Model: 100% remote is possible Vacancies: 4 FTE Role summary: This role will support efforts to transform R&D processes, incorporating AI / automation, so ideally candidates are comfortable at the intersection of business, tech, and organizational change. While not highly technical roles, the ideal candidate will have enough familiarity with AI and digital initiatives to effectively support transformation efforts within a pharma R&D environment. We are seeking a Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of cross-functional R&D initiatives, including AI/ML and Large Language Model (LLM) initiatives, bridging business objectives and technical execution for the Research & Development organization, including study design simplification, operational feasibility, cycle time reduction, and data-driven decision support across clinical development. This role operates within both the business and an Agile/Scrum environment and is accountable for delivering scalable, high-impact AI solutions and process redesign aligned to strategic priorities. The position serves as the central coordinator across business, technology and vendor teams, with full ownership of project health, execution, and outcomes. What will you do: Define project scope, objectives, success metrics and roadmap aligned to business goals including scope for MVP and POC execution Lead Agile/Scrum delivery, including feasibility analysis, overseeing requirement gathering, sprint planning, backlog management, and release coordination Manage cross-functional internal teams and external vendors Ownership of end-to-end project health, including scope, timeline, budget, risks, and quality Partner with Regulatory, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Medical, Statistics, Data Sciences, and Digital teams to deliver initiatives Define and track success metrics for clinical trial efficiency initiatives, such as study start-up timelines, enrollment performance, protocol deviation trends, amendment rates, and site experience Translate business requirements into technical execution plans with clear milestones and prioritized backlogs Oversee delivery of AI/ML, analytics, and workflow/process redesign solutions that support clinical development and regulatory approval, from use case definition through pilot, MVP, and scaled implementation Monitor and mitigate risks related to data, model performance, integration, and delivery timelines Ensure alignment with regulatory, risk and change control (as applicable) Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders and executive leadership Serve as a change agent and help drive adoption of new ways of working What we expect from you: Minimum 3-4 years of Project Management or Program Management experience in R&D cross-functional initiatives, technology, or data-driven initiatives Minimum 3-4 years of experience in the pharma industry or at a CRO, preferably within R&D Familiarity with clinical development processes Understanding of key clinical trial performance drivers, including protocol complexity, study enrollment, site burden, and execution risk Experience supporting AI / digital / technology-enabled transformation initiatives Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts (e.g., data pipelines, model lifecycle, generative AI) Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams Experience operating in Agile/Scrum environments with distributed, cross-functional teams Demonstrated ability to manage both internal engineering teams and external vendors Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and responsible AI considerations Preferred experience delivering AI/ML and LLM-based solutions in production environments Ability to work in European business hours, with 4-6 hour coverage of the US time zone (East Coast) Knowledge of English on min.
