Senior Python Automation Engineer - Cyber Security Implementation & Adoption

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Automation Engineer to support large-scale Cyber Security Implementation and Adoption initiatives across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python automation, cloud technologies, API integrations, and security tooling, with a focus on automating security processes, validating security controls, onboarding applications to cybersecurity platforms, and improving operational efficiency through automation. The engineer will work closely with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Application teams to accelerate the adoption of security controls and ensure consistent implementation across the organization. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation solutions supporting cybersecurity implementation and adoption programs Automate onboarding, configuration validation, compliance checks, and monitoring activities across security platforms Develop integrations with security tools, cloud platforms, APIs, and enterprise systems Build automated frameworks to validate security controls, configurations, and policy compliance Create automation for security operations workflows including data collection, reporting, remediation, and governance activities Develop scripts and utilities for large-scale inventory management, asset discovery, and security posture assessment Support implementation of security solutions across Azure cloud and hybrid environments Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to ensure security controls are embedded within delivery processes Analyze operational bottlenecks and identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement Produce technical documentation, automation runbooks, implementation guides, and operational procedures Collaborate with Cyber Security Architects, Security Operations, Infrastructure, and Development teams to drive security adoption initiatives Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior team members Requirements 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development, including scripting, automation frameworks, and API integrations Proficiency in PyTest, REST APIs, JSON, and YAML, along with automation best practices Experience developing automation for cybersecurity tools, governance processes, or security operations workflows Understanding of Cyber Security fundamentals, including Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Endpoint Security Knowledge of Vulnerability Management, Security Monitoring & Logging, and Cloud Security Controls, including compliance and governance practices Experience with Microsoft Azure and associated cloud services Familiarity with Azure security services such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure Security Center / Defender for Cloud Familiarity with Azure AD / Entra ID, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor Understanding of SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows Experience integrating automation with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes environments, with experience working with cloud-based distributed systems and troubleshooting complex technical issues Proficiency in English at a B2+ level

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development, including scripting, automation frameworks, and API integrations

• Proficiency in PyTest, REST APIs, JSON, and YAML, along with automation best practices

• Experience developing automation for cybersecurity tools, governance processes, or security operations workflows

• Understanding of Cyber Security fundamentals, including Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Endpoint Security

• Knowledge of Vulnerability Management, Security Monitoring & Logging, and Cloud Security Controls, including compliance and governance practices

• Experience with Microsoft Azure and associated cloud services

• Familiarity with Azure security services such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure Security Center / Defender for Cloud

• Familiarity with Azure AD / Entra ID, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor

• Understanding of SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows

• Experience integrating automation with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates

• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes environments, with experience working with cloud-based distributed systems and troubleshooting complex technical issues
