Responsibilities
Responsibility for creating and analyzing mathematical models describing the spread of plasmids (DNA fragments) between bacteria as a result of contact between bacteria in different environments; Analysis of the models based on numerical and analytical methods and the results of laboratory experiments; Publication of the results of the analyses.
Requirements: The ideal candidate has documented experience in statistical physics and numerical methods for solving differential equations (partial and stochastic). Important: at the time of starting employment, candidates must have the status of a PhD student.
Interest in microbiology is desirable.
The position will be funded under the project "Using Cell Colliders to identify antibiotic resistance superspreading events in bacteria" (NAWA Polish Returns grant to Dr. Jonasz Słomka; reference number BPN/PPO/2024/1/00008/U/00001).
This position is not related to activities covered by the protection of minors.
