Description

The client is one of the leading automotive OEMs in the United States. The project aims to expand the client's development team and support the implementation of the HMI and Middleware components for a next-generation automotive platform, specifically tailored for high-performance and racing features. Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial software development experience with strong expertise in Kotlin

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and clean architecture

  • Strong experience with Android application development and Android SDK

  • Experience with multithreading, coroutines, flows, and asynchronous programming

  • Good knowledge of software architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)

  • Experience writing unit tests and integration tests

  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills

  • Experience with Git and modern CI/CD workflows

  • Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Upper-Intermediate English or higher

  • Experience working with Android Open Source Project (custom Android platform development, system applications, framework modifications)

  • Experience with Android Automotive OS

  • Knowledge of Java and interoperability with Kotlin

  • Experience with dependency injection frameworks (Dagger/Hilt/Koin)

  • Familiarity with Linux-based environments and shell scripting

  • Experience with embedded or automotive software development

  • Understanding of Android system services, Binder, HAL, or platform internals

  • Experience integrating Android Auto or CarPlay solutions

  • Knowledge of Jetpack Compose

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Kotlin-based Android applications and platform components

  • Participate in software architecture and technical design discussions

  • Collaborate with system architects, QA engineers, and product teams

  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code

  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers

  • Contribute to performance optimization and system stability

  • Participate in troubleshooting complex production issues

  • Work with custom Android platform solutions and AOSP-based systems when required
