Requirements

• Spełnienie wymagań określonych w art. 113 ustawy Prawo oszkolnictwie wyższym i nauce (Dz.U. 2024, poz. 1571 t.j.)

• ma co najmniej stopień doktora;

• ma znaczące osiągnięcia naukowe;

• przedstawiła plan dalszej działalności badawczej;

• posiadanie wykształcenia w zakresie geomatyki, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zastosowań w kontekście archeologicznych badań wykopaliskowych, archeologii lub innej dziedziny pokrewnej.

• posiadanie wykształcenia akademickiego lub doświadczenia terenowego w zakresie archeologii funeralnej lub w dziedzinie pokrewnej.

• specjalizacja w zakresie starożytnego Egiptu i Nubii; dodatkowym atutem będzie specjalizacja w archeologii i historii średniowiecznej

• Nubii.

• ukończone szkolenia oraz doświadczenie w prowadzeniu archeologicznych badań terenowych (co najmniej dwa sezony badań terenowych; preferowane doświadczenie z badań prowadzonych w

• Sudanie), obejmujące dokumentację i rejestrację elementów stanowiska archeologicznego, w szczególności struktur funeralnych.

• wymagana biegłość w obsłudze tachimetru (total station) oraz cyfrowych narzędzi geomatycznych, w tym wykonywaniu ortofotografii oraz fotogrametrii (np. z wykorzystaniem oprogramowania Agisoft lub równoważnego), wraz z opracowywaniem powiązanych produktów dokumentacyjnych.

• biegła znajomość języka angielskiego w mowie i piśmie.

• W przypadku zatrudnienia oczekujemy, że Uniwersytet Warszawski będzie dla osoby wyłonionej podstawowym miejscem pracy.

• W przypadku zatrudnienia Uniwersytet Warszawski będzie głównym miejscem pracy wybranego kandydata.

• W okresie pobierania wynagrodzenia z tego stanowiska badacz nie może otrzymywać wynagrodzenia z innych projektów badawczych finansowanych w ramach konkursów NC ani z innego stosunku pracy, w tym u pracodawcy mającego siedzibę poza terytorium Polski.

• publikacje naukowe – ocena jakościowa i ilościowa osiągnięć publikacyjnych kandydata

• udział w projektach naukowych – w charakterze kierownika, głównego wykonawcy lub wykonawcy

Zakres obowiązków

• geomatic work and contributions to the bioarchaeological excavations at Old Dongola (Sudan)

• recording archaeological features (i.e. written, drawn, total station and photographic documentation of funerary structures and associated burials,

• digitization of documentation, orthophotography, photogrammetry, and three-dimensional (3D) rendering of funerary structures and associated burial components as needed;

• site mapping and GIS modelling,

• Complete only in the case of competition for the position in the research employment group or the research and teaching employment group.

• contributions to research production and dissemination of results

• (e.g. conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications and excavation reports)

• Conditions for entering the competition

• Fulfilment of the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Law on

• Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item

• holds at least a doctoral degree;

• has significant academic achievements;

• has presented a plan for further academic activity;

• has international experience.

• A degree in geomatics, with a background in the applications of archaeological excavation contexts, archaeology or any other related discipline

• An academic background or fieldwork experience in funerary archaeology or related field

• A specialization in ancient Egypt and Nubia, ideally with a focus in the archaeology and history of medieval Nubia will be considered an advantage

• Training and experience in conducting archaeological fieldwork

• (at least two field seasons of experience with a preference for fieldwork experience in Sudan), including recording and documenting site features, particularly funerary structures.

• Aptitude with total station and geomatic digital media, production of orthophotographs, and photogrammetry (e.g. Agisoft or similar) and associated outputs is required.

• If hired, we expect the University of Warsaw to be the primary workplace for the successful candidate.

• During the period of receiving this remuneration, the researcher will not receive any other remuneration from funds granted as direct costs of research projects financed under NC competitions, and will not receive remuneration from another employer on the basis of an employment contract, including an employer with its registered office outside the territory of Poland.
