Your profile and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, or similar related degree. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in a similar role and responsibilities is acceptable.

  • Minimum 3 years of Managerial or Supervisory experience with similar or applicable responsibilities.

  • Process experience in the chemical, mining or other industrial preferred.

  • Liquid Processing or powder handling experience is advantageous.

  • Oversight of Process Engineers to ensure the team meets project deadlines, completes tasks accordingly, sales project milestones, and goals.

  • Provide expertise, guidance, training, and mentors team members and other support as appropriate to include but not limited to Process Engineer responsibilities, on-site commissioning, and pre-sales support.

  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication by setting clear expectations and providing ongoing feedback.

  • Handles and supports topics for his / her team that may include but are not limited to employee relations, recruitment activities such as hiring, employer branding, & interviewing, performance & development, providing ongoing feedback to challenge and for growth, retention, and employee engagement.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies

  • Coordinate scheduling and planning of tasks for process engineer activities to align with capabilities, group priorities, maintain utilization, balanced workload and balanced travel schedules for all members

  • Manage relationships with partners/vendors and maintain open lines of communication with other department heads to ensure effective cross-department collaboration.

  • Assess, and suggest improvements in existing processes, new initiatives, and workflows for increased efficiency, competitiveness, quality and performance, along with supporting implementation activities.

  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints, staff disputes, and logistical challenges

  • Nurture a positive working environment and foster a culture of professional growth and development.

  • Provide training resources to employees on safety matters and ensure proper use of protective equipment, emergency response, and adherence to overall safety protocols.

  • Partner with Safety to investigate accidents or incidents to discover root cause/s to determine and implement actions for preventative measures

  • Other Supervisor responsibilities as assigned

  • Participate in project phases from initial customer meetings through pre-award sales support, design reviews, support cost estimation, proposal generation, lessons learned and optimization.

  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to industry design standards and optimization of designs to meet customer specifications.

  • Provide technical and team support through troubleshooting to resolve customer concerns regarding equipment/system performance, along with troubleshooting in projects, service, and warranty work.

  • Maintain accurate records of meetings, discussions, correspondence, and technical documents.

  • Develop and check others Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and heat and mass balances (4 eyes Design Review Principles).

  • Develop and check process equipment specification.

  • Support the team to develop general arrangement of plan and elevation view drawings.

  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.

  • Complete and review plant audits.

  • Support projects and sales opportunities in the development and sale of new opportunities providing expertise on technical knowledge.

  • Providing process engineering labor estimates and schedule requirements for new opportunities and projects

  • Provide pre-sale and post-sale support including site evaluations, pilot trials, presentations, and training.

  • Responsible for setting process warranties and test procedures with support from manager/sales and other process engineer team members

  • Coordinate and collaborate to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions in project technical document and specifications.

  • Develop relationships with key customers & GEA stakeholders for process design & operation considerations along with technology improvements and successful project execution.

  • Technically evaluate third-party supplier proposals and equipment selections.

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry standards such as sanitary requirements, which includes HAZOP evaluations and meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to travel approximately 25% to support various activities dependent on needs of sales and execution

  • Demonstration of positive leadership skills.

  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently.

  • Able to be self-motivated, take initiative, be decisive, and have commercial / business acumen.
