Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS (Must have)
Bachelors in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field
At least 4-5 years of commercial experience in a related domain, including strong programming skills in Python
Solid understanding of software automation testing principles, methodologies, and frameworks
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with hands-on experience debugging complex software anomalies using system and application logs
Experience identifying and debugging concurrency issues, including race conditions in multithreaded or multi-process environments
Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools, including Shell/Bash scripting
Capable of uncovering edge cases in robust, mission-critical software
DESIRED EXPERIENCE (Optional)
Experience with automated GUI testing tools, with a strong preference for Squish
Software testing experience for sophisticated electro-mechanical systems or robotics (Medical device industry preferred)
Prior experience testing software using hardware simulators or emulators
Experience with JIRA or similar bug-tracking tools
Experience with JAMA or similar test management tools
Job responsibilities
We are building a dedicated team for a modern, highly advanced surgical robotics project. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the automated testing infrastructure for a sophisticated robotic system comprising multiple interconnected applications. You will heavily utilize software simulators and GUI automation tools to verify, validate, and measure software quality.
The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating Linux environments, diving deep into logs to investigate failures and hunting down complex timing issues or race conditions. You will integrate automated tests into the existing software solutions and ensure outstanding reliability for life-changing medical technology. Responsibilities will include:
Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for multiple applications utilizing simulators and GUI testing frameworks (such as Squish)
Investigate complex test failures, analyze system logs and debug intricate software issues including race conditions
Execute functional tests and system-level integration tests
Improve test automation coverage and framework stability
