Senior Software Engineer (Cloud / Java)

Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team modernizing banking technology in an agile environment that supports continuous learning and professional growth. Our team builds innovative tools that digitize and automate communications monitoring and review, delivering a new in-house electronic communications surveillance platform spanning unstructured-data processing, model-driven alert generation, and a user interface for alert review and disposition. Responsibilities Build cloud-native Azure solutions for greenfield projects and existing applications Adopt emerging technologies, reuse strategic platforms and standards, and make sustainable technical decisions Deliver secure, reliable and compliant solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements Use GitHub Copilot, agents and reusable skills across delivery, with strong quality, security and human oversight Introduce emerging practices and help build capability across the product family Share expertise, support hiring and contribute to the engineering culture and communities Requirements 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a passion for solving complex problems and delivering maintainable, production-quality software Expertise in Java and relational database development, preferably PostgreSQL Proficiency in DevOps and CI/CD practices, ideally with GitLab pipelines Knowledge of Azure Functions or similar serverless, event-driven platforms, including triggers, bindings and scaling Knowledge of Azure Service Bus or similar messaging technology, including queues, topics, publish/subscribe and error handling Skills in data-flow engineering across ingestion, transformation and orchestration Experience in AI-assisted development, ideally with GitHub Copilot, agents, reusable skills and effective prompting English proficiency at B2 level or higher Nice to have Familiarity with Azure Data Factory or similar data-flow orchestration tools Experience in web UI development with React

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a passion for solving complex problems and delivering maintainable, production-quality software

• Expertise in Java and relational database development, preferably PostgreSQL

• Proficiency in DevOps and CI/CD practices, ideally with GitLab pipelines

• Knowledge of Azure Functions or similar serverless, event-driven platforms, including triggers, bindings and scaling

• Knowledge of Azure Service Bus or similar messaging technology, including queues, topics, publish/subscribe and error handling

• Skills in data-flow engineering across ingestion, transformation and orchestration

• Experience in AI-assisted development, ideally with GitHub Copilot, agents, reusable skills and effective prompting

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
