For our Client, a European‑headquartered international food company and a market leader in the frozen bakery segment across Europe and APAC, we are supporting the recruitment for the General Ledger Accountant with German. The organization serves major retail chains, convenience formats, quick‑service restaurants, bakeries and the foodservice sector. With nearly 9,000 employees and annual revenues exceeding EUR 1.7bn, it maintains strong market positions in multiple European countries as well as in Australia, New Zealand and selected Asian markets. Its European Business Service Center plays a central role in driving the company’s growth strategy by supporting decision‑making, ensuring efficient operational processes and strengthening internal controls. Ensure accurate and timely execution of tasks to support smooth and error-free month-end (MEC), quarter-end (QEC), and year-end closings for the assigned region Apply advanced knowledge of accounting processes, systems, and tools in daily operations Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and group policies Take proactive actions to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies Contribute to project activities supporting the development of the newly established BSC organization Facilitate effective task transitions, knowledge transfer, and process documentation Collaborate closely with business units, local entities, and headquarters to provide analysis for decision-making Resolve complex queries and maintain strong business relationships with stakeholders Actively participate in transition and process improvement projects Knowledge of fixed assets management is essential. Fluent in English, German at minimum B1 level Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or finance Strong expertise in GL processes, with solid knowledge of accounting, finance, and controlling Proficiency in SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA (experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation is a strong asset) Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience in a Shared Services environment, including process transformation and project management Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting regulations Experience in accounting or audit in an independent role Process improvement mindset and automation skills Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and in a team Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities Hybrid work model.
