As Senior Piping Designer, you will be responsible for the development of piping 3D models and 2D deliverables in accordance with project requirements and client's standards. You will assist in resolving piping technical issues and provide guidance to other designers as well as supervising and coordinating piping design tasks. Your tasks: Adhere to and promote the client's corporate safety culture Layout complex plant and piping systems using 3D modelling design tools Perform clash detection of models and other disciplines models, coordinate actions and closeout Model existing structures, plants and equipment Ensure all drawings, 2D extractions and piping deliverables are checked to comply with client's quality standards Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards and project procedures for all design activities In conjunction with engineering staff, prepare design concepts for internal and client reviews Develop and check engineering design details and special items drawings Prepare a list of design deliverables and time-based functions to facilitate the planning and control of the piping budget Perform design for piping/mechanical plant models using project specifications/procedures and applying industry best practice Use vendor drawings and information sheets to develop and check the model Coordinate and verify piping Material Take-Offs (MTOs) Ensure coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines Train and mentor junior and intermediate designers and provide guidance on client's standards and quality requirements Assist in the preparation and development of project specific procedures Facilitate formal piping design reviews Participate in the selection of piping design candidates Extract stress sketches Coordinate pipe support design, including special pipe supports with piping stress analyst input Support the application of piping systems to achieve the best project outcomes Extract and check ISOs Produce piping General Arrangement (GA) and equipment location drawings Provide input to proposals and man-hour estimates Assist in the resolution of piping design issues during the project lifecycle, including planning phase, design, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning Promote and maintain the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of piping work Your background: Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent Ideally 6-8+ years piping design experience or equivalent relevant experience Extensive experience with Bentley and/or Intergraph 3D design systems Sound design and modelling skills for plant layout, piping design and detailing Thorough knowledge of piping components and materials Sound knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and codes as required for piping design Experience with isometric production control and monitoring Experience with multidisciplinary coordination Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD systems Sound working knowledge of design systems and workflows as they relate to the piping discipline Thorough understanding of PFDs and P&IDs Site experience in a piping technical role Good communication and interpersonal skills Benefits: Daily contact with specialists and clients from around the world An interesting career with opportunities for continuous self-development Work according to the latest global standards (newest work and design technologies) Implementation of projects related to the most advanced technologies and engineering processes Global exposure Flat organization structure Private medical care Life insurance Funding for sports activities Team-building events Charity initiatives Modern office in the center of Katowice If you are interested, send us your CV in English.
