Electrical Lead Engineer

Hays Contracting Services operates under a B2B service delivery model. We are currently looking for a B2B contractor to provide electrical engineering and design services as part of international petrochemical and refinery projects delivered for a global client operating in the industrial and engineering sector. Location: Hybrid (3 days/week from the Kraków office) Cooperation type: B2B contract Project duration: Initial contract for 6 months with potential for further cooperation Start date: ASAP Rate: up to 145 PLN/h (net + VAT) Project description: The project focuses on the delivery of electrical engineering solutions for petrochemical, refinery and process industry facilities. The contractor will provide technical leadership and coordination within the electrical discipline while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams located across multiple countries. Technology environment: AutoCAD (ACAD) DIALux ETAP (or equivalent power system analysis software) MS Office NEC standards NEMA standards NFPA standards Electrical system design and engineering documentation Scope of services: Provide technical and subject-matter coordination for electrical engineering activities within industrial projects. Plan, monitor, review and approve electrical discipline deliverables in line with project specifications and contractual requirements. Coordinate project activities with the Engineering Manager regarding project schedules, priorities, resource requirements and technical solutions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and maintain effective project workflow across disciplines. Coordinate activities with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers and client-side technical stakeholders. Analyse technical contractual documentation and engineering requirements. Prepare project-specific electrical engineering documentation and discipline guidelines. Design electrical systems for petrochemical and refinery facilities. Prepare project specifications, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, terminal connection diagrams and substation layouts. Perform electrical calculations including short-circuit analysis, power balance calculations, cable sizing, lighting calculations, grounding and lightning protection calculations. Prepare installation layouts, cable tray routing drawings, lighting and grounding layouts. Develop installation typicals and Material Take-Off documentation. Prepare inquiry packages for electrical equipment in accordance with project requirements. Coordinate package units and technical interfaces with project stakeholders. Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for electrical equipment. Provide technical input for subcontracting activities, including Bill of Quantities (BoQ). Verify project and vendor documentation against applicable engineering standards and contractual requirements. Provide expert support related to erection activities where required within the agreed project scope. Required competencies: Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer within a plant engineering company. Experience in industrial projects - in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or refinery area Experience in technical coordination of engineering activities. Ability to independently organise service delivery related to electrical engineering proposals and project execution. Strong practical knowledge of:AutoCAD (ACAD)DIALuxMS Office Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, project stakeholders, customers, suppliers and vendors. Strong communication and coordination skills. High level of interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Fluent English (B2+ minimum). Readiness to provide services in a multicultural international environment. Nice to have: Experience in projects delivered according to US standards. Knowledge of NEC, NEMA and NFPA requirements. Experience with ETAP or similar power system analysis software. Previous involvement in large-scale international engineering projects. Availability for business travel to engineering centres and construction sites in Europe and the USA, depending on project needs. Cooperation process: Profile and experience review by the Hays team A conversation with a Hays consultant about the project and scope of services A technical meeting with project representatives (up to 2 stages, conducted in both Polish and English) Agreement on cooperation terms Commencement of service delivery The cooperation is carried out between independent businesses (B2B model) and covers the performance of services within the agreed project scope. The Contractor independently organizes and manages the manner in which the services are performed, taking into account the project requirements, security obligations, and the necessary communication with the client. Responsibilities

• The engagement combines technical coordination responsibilities with hands-on electrical engineering activities, covering electrical design, engineering documentation, calculations, equipment specification and coordination with project stakeholders, vendors and suppliers. The role offers exposure to international projects executed according to global engineering standards.
