Field Service Engineer – Keep food production running

As our new Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of GEA on-site, delivering expert technical consultation, machine commissioning, and comprehensive maintenance services to customers across Finland and occasionally abroad. Your profile and qualifications

• Hold a degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• Possess strong multi-disciplinary technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

• Are proficient in reading technical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&ID diagrams.

• Have knowledge of PLC automation systems, such as Siemens TIA Portal or Rockwell, is highly advantageous.

• Have proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or Technician working with complex industrial machinery, ideally within the food, dairy, or pharmaceutical sectors.

• Possess a valid driver's license.

• Are fluent in Finnish and also in English, the GEA Group language.

Your responsibilities and tasks

• Provide high-level technical consultation and troubleshooting support to customers both on-site and remotely.

• Train customer operators and maintenance staff on proper machine handling and daily care.

• Identify opportunities for equipment optimization and recommend parts, upgrades, or service contracts.

• Execute all service tasks in strict compliance with GEA safety protocols and food safety regulations.

• Complete detailed service reports, timesheets, and technical documentation accurately and on time.

• Manage personal inventory of tools, safety gear, and spare parts assigned for service trips.
