Lead Java Full Stack Engineer

Description

We are seeking a Lead Java Full Stack Engineer to accelerate modernization work across credit risk workflows, model integration, and DB2-exit-adjacent data modernization. This role sits within the risk management function, where credit officers review counterparties through business workflows relying on model-generated ratings. Many of these models remain partly legacy and require modernization, with funding already allocated for data modernization initiatives, including DB2 exit work. Responsibilities Drive modernization efforts across credit risk workflows and model integration processes Support the transition of legacy models to modernized architectures Integrate model runs initiated from business workflows with the analytics platform to return accurate ratings Contribute to data modernization initiatives, including DB2 exit work Collaborate with credit officers and risk management stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs Plug directly into existing workflow modernization work with minimal ramp-up time Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate the software development lifecycle Partner with model risk and front-office risk teams to ensure alignment across the broader risk function Deliver full-stack solutions that support an under-resourced function seeking to move faster Requirements 8+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering with a Java-first profile Proficiency in Python for model and analytics integration Familiarity with GitHub Copilot as a primary AI development tool, with the Claude app as secondary Understanding of credit risk workflows, model integration, and business rating systems Background in data modernization initiatives, including legacy database exit strategies such as DB2 Capability to work within an AI-driven SDLC environment and integrate quickly into existing modernization efforts English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering with a Java-first profile

• Proficiency in Python for model and analytics integration

• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot as a primary AI development tool, with the Claude app as secondary

• Understanding of credit risk workflows, model integration, and business rating systems

• Background in data modernization initiatives, including legacy database exit strategies such as DB2

• Capability to work within an AI-driven SDLC environment and integrate quickly into existing modernization efforts

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
