Senior AWS Cloud Native Developer

Description

We are looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Native Developer to help build a paved-road platform from the ground up — one that lets every engineering team build in an AI-native way, with agents as first-class developers, automation and governance built in, and a fast, safe path from idea to production. This is a hands-on, close-to-the-code build role where the systems and patterns you create will serve as the foundation every engineering team works on top of. Responsibilities Define and encode application-development patterns and quick starts that other engineering teams can rely on Build production APIs and services using Python and FastAPI Develop cloud-native applications and tooling on AWS, including developer tooling and delivery platforms Design and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform Drive engineering work with AI coding harnesses/agents, following spec-driven development practices Integrate AWS serverless and event-driven services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions Automate CI/CD, SDLC, and engineering controls using GitHub Actions, IaC, and automated evidence capture Turn policy and regulatory requirements into automated governance, compliance, and operational controls within delivery pipelines Implement deterministic scripted checks and agentic applications for problems that require reasoning and judgment Apply strong engineering practices, including API design, automated testing, observability, documentation, and secure-by-default delivery Operate independently within a fast-moving program and contribute from early stages Requirements 5+ years of application-development experience with the ability to define patterns and quick starts for other engineers Proficiency in Python and FastAPI for building production APIs and services Strong AWS application development and software engineering experience, ideally with developer tooling, delivery platforms, or cloud-native developer workflows Skills in Terraform for infrastructure as code Daily experience using AI coding harnesses/agents, with familiarity with spec-driven development Knowledge of AWS serverless and event-driven services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions, and how to integrate them Experience automating CI/CD, SDLC, and engineering controls using GitHub Actions, IaC, and automated evidence capture Background in building automated governance, compliance, or operational controls into delivery pipelines, using both deterministic scripted checks and agentic applications Understanding of good engineering practice, including API design, automated testing, observability, documentation, and secure-by-default delivery Capability to operate independently in a fast-moving program and contribute from early on English proficiency at B2 level or higher Nice to have Skills in TypeScript/React for web front ends and developer consoles Experience building internal developer platforms or "platform-as-a-product" Experience building agentic applications, or designing APIs/CLIs and reusable skills for both human and agent consumers

Requirements

• 5+ years of application-development experience with the ability to define patterns and quick starts for other engineers

• Proficiency in Python and FastAPI for building production APIs and services

• Strong AWS application development and software engineering experience, ideally with developer tooling, delivery platforms, or cloud-native developer workflows

• Skills in Terraform for infrastructure as code

• Daily experience using AI coding harnesses/agents, with familiarity with spec-driven development

• Knowledge of AWS serverless and event-driven services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions, and how to integrate them

• Experience automating CI/CD, SDLC, and engineering controls using GitHub Actions, IaC, and automated evidence capture
