Senior Java Developer

Description

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer passionate about delivering new and exciting applications to support Rates and Credit sales and trading desks on a high-end microservice platform. The platform intends to replace existing client-facing applications and uses state-of-the-art technologies (Microservices, Java 11+, React, JS/TS & HTML5, Spring Boot) and solutions allowing efficient development and automatic scalable deployment. Responsibilities Be a part of a scrum team working on delivering business value through software Implement and deliver high-quality software solutions Demonstrate superior collaboration skills when working with the trading desk and other teams Understand business requirements and translate them into code Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable code Perform unit, integration, functional, and non-functional testing Provide technical direction and system architecture Requirements 3+ years of experience in software development using Java, with expertise in low-level parts of the API such as collections, multi-threading, and Java concurrency utilities Background in architecting enterprise-level, server-side, end-to-end solutions on cloud technologies Proficiency in IO/NIO, Sockets, and asynchronous programming Skills in building applications using an IOC framework such as Spring Boot and ReactJS Familiarity with low-latency, high-throughput messaging systems Sound understanding of design patterns (exposure to functional programming is also highly desirable) Knowledge of Java testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber), automated testing, and continuous integration Competency in agile development practices (Scrum, XP, Kanban) Self-starting, with the desire to take ownership of requirements from start to finish Proactive and comfortable working in dynamic environments with fast-paced deliveries and changing requirements Excellent communicator, able to lead and drive fellow teammates to deliver good-quality software Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher Nice to have Hands-on experience with ELK and event streaming platforms like Kafka or Spark Knowledge of application containerization such as Docker and Kubernetes Experience with performance stress testing and chaos engineering

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software development using Java, with expertise in low-level parts of the API such as collections, multi-threading, and Java concurrency utilities

• Background in architecting enterprise-level, server-side, end-to-end solutions on cloud technologies

• Proficiency in IO/NIO, Sockets, and asynchronous programming

• Skills in building applications using an IOC framework such as Spring Boot and ReactJS

• Familiarity with low-latency, high-throughput messaging systems

• Sound understanding of design patterns (exposure to functional programming is also highly desirable)

• Knowledge of Java testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber), automated testing, and continuous integration

• Competency in agile development practices (Scrum, XP, Kanban)

• Self-starting, with the desire to take ownership of requirements from start to finish

• Proactive and comfortable working in dynamic environments with fast-paced deliveries and changing requirements
