The opportunity EY’s Cybersecurity Practice functions as a center of excellence to assist our consulting practices in planning, pursuing, delivering and managing large, complex full lifecycle initiatives along with providing expertise in leading practices, methods, and resources in the space of Cybersecurity. The Data Protection & Privacy competency within the Cybersecurity practice is a critical competency that supports our clients across all industry sectors. What we look for We are looking for an experienced Data Privacy & Protection professional who can combine strong technical expertise with the ability to provide strategic business guidance. The ideal candidate is skilled in conducting PIA/DPIA assessments, mapping data flows, and integrating privacy requirements into organizational processes and systems. We value strong analytical capabilities, the ability to evaluate and improve privacy controls, and excellent communication skills for working effectively with diverse stakeholders. The right person stays current with evolving regulations, industry trends, and emerging technologies, and can confidently advise and support clients in implementing privacy solutions.

Ideally, you’ll also have
BE/B.Tech/M.Tech/M.S./MBA or equivalent.
Certifications related to Data Privacy such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE.
Experience with one or more of the following tools: OneTrust, BigID, Securiti.ai, MS Purview, other privacy tools.
REST API, JavaScript, Python, Apache FreeMarker, HTML, CSS, PowerBI.
Skills and attributes for success
Minimum 4 years of experience in Data Privacy and Protection
Experience in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA)
Familiarity with data mapping and identification of data processing activities
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy considerations into business processes and systems
Strong analytical skills to evaluate the effectiveness of privacy controls and recommend improvements
Your key responsibilities
As a Consultant in the Data Protection & Privacy competency, you will help clients define technical and business requirements for data privacy solutions as well as develop business processes and policies related to controlling access to data. This includes helping clients to identify, understand and protect their most critical data throughout the data lifecycle. Engagements range from identifying high value assets to developing data classification schemes based on Data Privacy Assessments, standards and guidelines and implementing processes and technologies to provide leading data privacy capabilities.
You and your team will implement and advise clients on multiple data privacy products and solutions.
To qualify for the role, you must have
Consistently deliver high-quality client services, monitor progress, manage risks, and keep key stakeholders informed about progress and expected outcomes
Establish and maintain relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels
Ability to prioritize tasks and work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines
Stay informed about industry trends, data privacy standards, regulations, and related technologies
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Fluent in English (minimum B2 level)
Excellent communication skills to articulate privacy concepts and requirements to stakeholders at all levels
Knowledge of emerging technologies and their implications for data privacy
