Electrical Design Engineer

Hays Contracting Services operates under a B2B service delivery model. We are currently looking for a B2B contractor to provide electrical engineering and design services as part of international petrochemical and refinery projects delivered for a global client operating in the industrial and engineering sector. Location: Hybrid (3 days/week from the Kraków office) Cooperation type: B2B contract Project duration: Initial contract for 6 months with potential for further cooperation Start date: ASAP Rate: up to 130 PLN/h (net + VAT) Project description: The engagement concerns the delivery of electrical design solutions for large-scale petrochemical and refinery facilities. The B2B contractor will collaborate with the client’s multidisciplinary project teams located across different countries and contribute to the design and execution of complex industrial projects. The project provides exposure to international engineering assignments, advanced electrical design solutions and industrial plant environments. It also offers the possibility of expanding the scope of services towards Senior Electrical Design Engineer-level assignments in future project phases. Technology environment: AutoCAD / ACAD DIALux SmartPlant 3D E3D ETAP or equivalent power system analysis software MS Office Electrical calculations and industrial plant design documentation Scope of services: Design electrical systems for petrochemical and refinery facilities Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and engineering deliverables Develop one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, terminal connection diagrams, and substation layouts Perform electrical calculations, including short-circuit, power balance, cable sizing, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection calculations Prepare installation layouts, cable tray routing drawings, lighting and grounding layouts Create installation typicals and Material Take-Off (MTO) documentation Prepare documentation and drawings based on 3D models using SmartPlant 3D or E3D Coordinate technical activities with the Project Lead Engineer and international stakeholders Required competencies: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering At least 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer within a plant engineering company Strong knowledge of electrical design for industrial facilities Experience with AutoCAD (ACAD), Dialux and MS Office Experience preparing documentation and drawings based on SmartPlant 3D or E3D models Ability to independently execute engineering projects and technical deliverables Strong communication and collaboration skills Fluency in English (B2 or higher) Nice to have: Experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or refinery projects Knowledge of SmartPlant 3D Experience with ETAP or other power system analysis software Knowledge of hazardous area classification Experience working in multicultural project environments Cooperation process: Profile and experience review by the Hays team A conversation with a Hays consultant about the project and scope of services A technical meeting with project representatives (up to 2 stages) Agreement on cooperation terms Commencement of service delivery The cooperation is carried out between independent businesses (B2B model) and covers the performance of services within the agreed project scope. The Contractor independently organizes and manages the manner in which the services are performed, taking into account the project requirements, security obligations, and the necessary communication with the client.
