Requirements
Qualified tax adviser with relevant professional tax qualifications
Experience in tax advisory, tax compliance or a similar role, preferably within an international organisation
Experience and examples of working on cross-border or multi-jurisdictional tax projects
Strong knowledge of tax legislation and examples of the ability to assess the impact of regulatory changes on the business
Experience in identifying tax optimisation opportunities, tax incentives or efficiency improvements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex tax matters into practical business solutions
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across different functions and cultures
Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
A proactive and commercially minded approach, with a good understanding of business needs and awareness of competitors
Interest in technology, innovation and process improvement and the ability to identify opportunities to improve tax processes
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing international environment
Experience working with UK or European tax matters, particularly in the retail sector, will be an advantage
Fluent English, both written and spoken
Responsibilities
Contributing to the delivery of the Group’s short- and long-term multi-jurisdictional tax strategy
Working across Tax Advisory, Tax Compliance and Reporting activities for multiple entities and jurisdictions, including Country-by-Country (CbC) reporting and Pillar Two requirements
Monitoring key tax risks and contributing to the Tax Advisory risk management framework
Contributing to the development and implementation of effective tax controls
Maintaining open and transparent relationships with tax authorities
Identifying tax optimisation opportunities, including cost-saving initiatives, tax reliefs and incentives
Preparing business cases for identified tax reliefs, incentives and other tax optimisation opportunities
Responding to business and stakeholder queries related to Tax Advisory matters
Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and contributing to the delivery of the Group’s strategic objectives
Researching changes in tax legislation and regulations and assessing their potential impact on the business
Contributing to change management initiatives and exploring opportunities to use technology to future-proof the tax function
Preparing tax updates and contributing to training and knowledge-sharing activities for relevant stakeholders
Considering local legislation, geographical requirements and business needs when implementing the Group’s tax strategy
Collaborating with external tax advisers to deliver clear and practical tax advice
Contributing to best-practice processes and governance across Group entities
Identifying alternative and innovative solutions to meet the changing needs of the business
Contributing to the long-term development and performance of the Group Tax function
Working collaboratively with the wider Group Tax team and contributing to the team’s strategic agenda
