Principal AIOps Architect

Contract of Employment (UoP)- only Your new role We are looking for a Lead AIOps & Automation Architect to design and implement AI-driven operations across service management. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with strong architectural ownership, focused on building scalable, production-grade solutions. Key Responsibilities: AIOps Architecture Own end-to-end AIOps architecture (data ingestion, modeling, inference, automation) Design solutions for event correlation, anomaly detection, predictive incidents, and noise reduction Establish patterns for human-in-the-loop and autonomous operations with proper guardrails AI-Driven Automation Build intelligent automation for incident response, change management, and release processes Embed AI outputs directly into operational workflows (not standalone tools) Ensure automation is safe, auditable, reversible, and compliant Data & Observability Define AI-ready datasets using metrics, logs, events, traces, and service topology Design scalable and cost-efficient telemetry ingestion and correlation strategies Align with observability standards and monitoring-as-code practices Modeling & Operational Intelligence Apply ML techniques (forecasting, anomaly detection, clustering, classification) Define and track success metrics (MTTR, precision/recall, false positives) Build feedback loops to continuously improve models and automation Technical Leadership Act as a subject-matter expert for AIOps and automation Collaborate with SRE, platform, and data teams Influence architecture, standards, and tooling decisions What you'll need to succeed Experience 10+ years in IT operations, SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, or similar Proven experience with AIOps, event management, or intelligent automation Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML into real operational workflows Strong knowledge of distributed systems, observability, and telemetry Nice to Have Experience with enterprise ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow ITOM) Exposure to ML techniques for operational use cases Experience in cloud or hybrid environments Skills Observability (metrics, logs, traces) Event correlation and noise reduction Automation frameworks and workflow orchestration API integrations and data pipelines Service topology and impact analysis Safe automation design and governance What Success Looks Like Reduced alert noise and incident volume Faster detection and resolution (lower MTTR) More automation in operations Improved release confidence and change safety Measurable progress toward autonomous operations What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
