Quality Engineer

Description

Participation in new product introduction (NPI) processes and implementation of changes in existing products. Customer communication regarding PPAP submissions and ongoing changes. Approval of sPPAP for component changes. Supervision of blocked materials, initiation and monitoring of 8D reports. Initiating and overseeing corrective actions and assessing their effectiveness. Development of Control Plans and measurement methods, participation in FMEA together with Production Engineers. Auditing existing quality systems and process control systems. Selection of appropriate measurement methods and techniques for process control. Monitoring and controlling the cost of poor quality. Higher education (technical or engineering degree preferred) Good command of English (B2 level minimum) Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment Practical knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and sPPAP processes Basic knowledge of quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D) Familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements; experience with implementation or auditing of Quality Management Systems based on this standard will be an advantage Ability to read technical drawings and use measurement equipment Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Good planning and organizational skills Collaboration based on a B2B contract via Hays Possibility to collaborate with an international Tier 1 automotive client Involvement in global projects and exposure to industry standards Possibility to develop expertise in advanced quality processes and tools

Responsibilities

• Project focused on delivering end-to-end quality engineering support for a Tier 1 automotive supplier, ensuring compliant product launches and stable serial production in line with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements. The scope includes execution of APQP/PPAP processes, effective management of quality risks through structured problem-solving (8D), and implementation of robust process controls (FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA). The role drives measurable improvements in product quality, reduces cost of poor quality, and ensures timely customer approvals through effective cross-functional and client communication.
