EPAM's Financial Services Practice is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Java Developer to join our team of world-class engineers. You will work on cutting-edge technology solutions for one of the world's largest and most prestigious global investment banks — an institution at the forefront of financial innovation, operating across investment banking, securities, asset management, and consumer banking worldwide. This role requires availability to work from the client's office in Warsaw 3 times a week. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based backend services and applications Build and enhance scalable RESTful APIs serving critical business functions Implement reactive, event-driven solutions for high-throughput data processing Work with NoSQL databases to manage and query large-scale datasets Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability Collaborate with globally distributed, cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design for scalability and performance Operate within an Agile Scrum framework, delivering iteratively with continuous feedback Requirements 6+ years of professional software development experience Strong Java development experience — with a focus on Java 8 & 9 Experience with NoSQL databases — ideally MongoDB Experience implementing REST APIs — ideally with JAX-RS Experience with Reactive Programming — ideally with RxJava Solid experience implementing unit tests Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good communication skills in English for collaboration within an international team Nice to have Experience developing applications in fintech or established financial institutions Experience with microservice architectures Experience developing systems that can scale to large amounts of data Experience working in Agile Scrum Experience working on a globally distributed team

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong Java development experience — with a focus on Java 8 & 9

• Experience with NoSQL databases — ideally MongoDB

• Experience implementing REST APIs — ideally with JAX-RS

• Experience with Reactive Programming — ideally with RxJava

• Solid experience implementing unit tests

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good communication skills in English for collaboration within an international team
