Senior Java Engineer

Description

EPAM is looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Java Engineer to join a dynamic, cross-functional team delivering enterprise-grade solutions for a major client operating in a technology-driven domain. The project focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications that support critical business operations and digital transformation initiatives. This role spans a wide range of modern technologies and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful architectural impact across backend services, cloud infrastructure, and containerized deployments. Our client expects us to work from our Wrocław office three times a week. Responsibilities Design and develop robust backend services using Java and the Spring ecosystem Architect and deploy cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure Orchestrate and maintain containerized applications with Kubernetes Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, DevOps, QA, product) to deliver end-to-end solutions Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices Work in a fast-paced, agile environment with iterative delivery cycles Requirements 5+ years of professional software engineering experience Expert-level proficiency in at least 3 of the following technologies: Java, Python, Azure, Kubernetes, TypeScript, React, Rust, Node.js Strong experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks Solid understanding of microservices architecture, containerization, and CI/CD practices Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with minimal supervision Strong communication and collaboration skills Nice to have Experience with Spring Boot / Spring Cloud for distributed systems Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Bicep) Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems Prior experience in client-facing or consulting environments

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Expert-level proficiency in at least 3 of the following technologies: Java, Python, Azure, Kubernetes, TypeScript, React, Rust, Node.js

• Strong experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, containerization, and CI/CD practices

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with minimal supervision

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
