Senior Java Engineer

Description

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer responsible for the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, modification, and maintenance of properly engineered information systems, with software as the major component, to meet agreed-upon business needs. This position offers a fully remote role based in Poland. We are highly interested in candidates willing to start in September. Responsibilities Build and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable and secure code based on User Stories and software designs Develop enterprise software within a multi-functional agile team, adhering to company standards and established software methodology Ensure delivery of reliable, robust software through the creation and execution of automated tests Review the work of peers and more junior developers, providing advice and guidance to benefit the team Inspect and adapt through agile retrospectives and reviews, finding innovative ways to make the team work more effectively Work with other team members during refinement and planning sessions to analyze development requirements, provide design options and complexity estimates, and agree on delivery approaches Provide timely status updates on areas of responsibility during Scrum meetings Requirements 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with excellent knowledge of the Java language and underlying JVM Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and familiarity with various design patterns Experience with unit testing, databases and SQL Understanding of security implications and secure coding Good communication skills, both verbal and written Skill for writing clean, readable code and reusable components Experience in or a strong desire to work in a formal agile software development lifecycle Understanding of HTML and XML Proficiency in source code management tools such as Git or SVN Familiarity with continuous build and integration Proficiency in English at a B2+ level Nice to have Experience with AWS and Elasticsearch Experience with CI/CD tooling, such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, and understanding of DevOps culture Experience with RESTful interfaces Knowledge of service-oriented architectures

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with excellent knowledge of the Java language and underlying JVM

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and familiarity with various design patterns

• Experience with unit testing, databases and SQL

• Understanding of security implications and secure coding

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written

• Skill for writing clean, readable code and reusable components

• Experience in or a strong desire to work in a formal agile software development lifecycle

• Understanding of HTML and XML

• Proficiency in source code management tools such as Git or SVN

• Familiarity with continuous build and integration

• Proficiency in English at a B2+ level
